A GEELONG developer has revealed when the first land will be released to market at a new residential estate in the northern suburbs.
Bisinella Developments has opened expressions of interest for homebuyers who want to register for land in the new Wattle Estate at Corio.
The 103-lot estate will be developed on a 8.9ha property at 55 Broderick Rd, which the developer paid $6.85 million for in April.
The family-run business, one of Geelong’s largest residential and industrial developers, out-bid competition from across Australia to secure the site at auction.
Bisinella’s director Richard Bisinella said land in Wattle Estate was due to be released in early 2019, with construction expected to commence mid year.
The estate neighbours the developer’s earlier Rose Park Estate and fills a ribbon of land between Corio’s existing residential development line and the Geelong Ring Road, west of Beckley Park.
“Wattle Estate will provide residents with easy access to the highway, Geelong CBD, schools, shopping facilities and health care,” Mr Bisinella said.
“There will be approximately 103 lots available for sale within Wattle Estate, with sizes ranging from around 340sq m to 510sq m.”
No indication has been given on price at this stage.
Harcourts, North Geelong agent Joe Grgic, who sold the property to Bisinella, said the estate would be a fantastic opportunity for people who work and play in Melbourne, “particularly in Melbourne’s west, which is really only 20 minutes away”.
“The reputation of Bisinella Developments means that the Wattle Estate will be a quality estate located at the northern tip of Geelong, making highway access to Melbourne a mere few turns away,” he said.
“Past estates have shown Bisinella Developments create communities, especially for families, who will be proud to live there. A neighbouring estate, Rose Park Estate which is a Bisinella estate, sold out many years ago and the popularity of the estate is a testament to the planning and thought that has gone into their estates,” he said.
“From Wattle Estate you can walk to Aldi and it’s only 10km to the prized Geelong waterfront.”
There are two large-scale residential estates north of Cox Rd but inside the Geelong Ring Road — Phalaris Park at Lovely Banks and Flinders Park at Corio. The latter has sold out.
