WHERE the buyers are: Check out the Adelaide homes that are striking a chord with buyers, according to figures from realestate.com.au.
These were the most popular homes of last week on the property search site…
About 300 people crammed into the first open of this replica bungalow on the weekend.
The figures were perhaps not surprising, given the Glengowrie home was also South Australia’s most popular property on realestate.com.au last week.
As such, it got more “clicks” from potential buyers than any other SA home.
It was also the fourth most-popular home in Australia, according to the site.
Selling agent Black Scholz, of Ray White Unley said interest in the four-bedroom home at 33 Bednall Tce had been “huge”.
“We had more than 80 groups through on the first weekend and everyone had kids in tow, so there were about 300 people trying to get through the door for the first open,” Mr Scholz said.
Built in 2008, the home was immaculately presented, with a heritage-look front and a modern interior, incorporating indoor/outdoor open-plan living spaces.
It also had an extra large, wraparound alfresco living space under the main roof with an outdoor kitchen. And it all overlooked an in-ground swimming pool with clear fencing.
Mr Scholz said the crowds were attracted by the home’s immaculate presentation, coupled with its location.
“It’s just so well presented — it’s got amazing decor and style,” he said, adding the vendors had largely used their own furniture to present the home for sale.
Mr Scholz said Glengowrie, which sits about 10km west of Adelaide in the Marion Council area, close to Glenelg, was a very tightly-held and sought-after suburb.
According to CoreLogic it’s median house price sits at $670,000.
“Glengowrie is so popular and has been for a while,” Mr Scholz said.
“I knew half the people coming through by name because they are in the area and have been looking for so long.
“A lot of people who live there want to stay and move to a bigger house or a smaller house.”
Despite sitting just out of the highly sought-after Brighton High School zone, Mr Scholz said the home, which was “across the road” from Our Lady of Grace Catholic School, largely attracted family buyers.
The home, which is on a 700sqm block, is being marketed with a $1.1 million to $1.2 million price guide. Offers close Tuesday, November 20, at noon.
